A meteorite tears across the night sky and lands beyond Cinderwater. A village smith offers 400 gold for enough fallen iron to repair her forge and finish the reservoir sluice pins. On the road, the adventurers encounter an iron-eating hound. Once they carry the meteorite, the same hungry predator becomes their problem again. A 3-4 hour one-shot for four level-3 adventurers, with four linked scenes, a damaged ferry, crater salvage, a changing return journey, complete homebrew creature statistics, and two player handouts. Negotiation, clever transport, sacrifice, and combat all offer ways home. SRD 5.1-compatible.
