Team members with repository access can run the complete desktop app today. The eventual installer will use the same Codex runtime, Familiar skills, and campaign format.

Requirements

What you need to use Familiar.

Familiar does not include model usage. Connect an eligible ChatGPT plan or an OpenAI API key, then choose a local folder for the campaign.

02A local campaign folder

Start empty or bring existing Markdown, notes, images, PDFs, and rules material.

Familiar stops at meaningful choices and keeps agent approvals visible.
